Section 1: How do SimTopia looted items work?
Throughout your time using weapons with the proper damage convention you can loot items from mobs and by killing other players in PvP mode. While any velocity based weapon will do damage to the SimTopia meter and Stan-Designed mobs a damage hierarchy has been put in place that includes armor resistances and damage types. Velocity damages will not trigger a loot pool and you will not get free SimTopia loot by using them. Different weapons can do different damage types and have different strengths. Looted items may have level, player sex and/or PvP rank requirements to wield them. If a SimTopia looted weapon is worn it will tell you if you meet the requirements to use it and if you are able an icon will show on your SimTopia HUD to let you know the item is in use. If the icon is touched or if you die your worn items will be removed and you will have to attach them again.
Items may loose durability over time and may need to be repaired. Weapons may run out of ammo and may need to be reloaded. When you wear the item it will tell you information like durability and ammo available. If you need to repair or reload an item you will have to do so by using credits. Credits are earned through killing Stan-Designed mobs and looted from other players in PvP mode.
To repair or reload an item you must have your SimTopia HUD set to listen mode and then simply touch your item for a menu. If you have enough credits available you can repair or reload from the menu.
If you no longer require the item you may be able to sell it for more credits. This is done the same way you repair or reload but the item must be placed on the ground in world for the sell option to appear on the menu. Once again your SimTopia HUD must be set to listen mode in order to sell items to it.
SimTopia looted items are not modifiable but may be sold to other players. Simply place the item in world at your shop location and set the item's price for sale. Other players may touch your SimTopia items for sale and get info such as durability, ammo available, level, sex and PvP requirements. Other info such as weapon damage type and item tier can be found on the object's description.
Section 2: Create your own weapons!
To create your own weapon a damage object must be rezzed in front of your avatar with a velocity of at least 4 to trigger damage. If you are not sure how to code your own weaponry the default pop gun should be in everyone's inventory. To trigger the proper damage you must put the proper code on the description of the damage object. For example the generic damage object of the pop gun is called bullet and is located inside the gun.
An example of the damage hierarchy is as follows:
PK,stmeleedamage,low
“PK” is stated first in capitals to tell the player or mob being damaged the damage object is from a player and to trigger a damage type. This must always be on your damage objects or the damage type will not work and you will not get any SimTopia loot. You may only damage other players if they have their meter set to PK mode.
“stmeleedamage” is the type of damage you want to inflict. This can be mitigated by mob resistances and player armors. Player armors can be bought from Stan-Designed and are found by hunting mobs and other players.
All available damage types are:
stshrapneldamage
stcorrodedamage
stelectricdamage
stfrostdamage
stburndamage
stpiercedamage
stmeleedamage
stpkdamage "Ignores all resistances accept PvP R"
“low” is the strength of damage you want to inflict. While higher strengths do higher damages they also increase the timer between hits that can be inflicted on the player or mob. For example inflicting a “low” damage type will cause a mob or player to not take damage for another 1 second while a “Bomb” damage type will do much more damage but cause a mob or player to not take damage again for 10 seconds.
Below are the damage strengths and timers:
low :7-10dam 1.0 sec
med :12-15 dam 1.5 sec
high :17-20 dam 2.0 sec
bomb: 47-50 dam 5 sec
Commas must separate the three categories so once again the example below must be placed on the description of the damage object being rezzed by the weapon and it must be rezzed with at least a velocity of 4:
PK,stmeleedamage,low
Player created weapons do not require credits to repair or reload but will also do less inherent damage than looted weapons. Better weapons that are looted will contain the same damage hierarchy but will do more damage based on the tier. Trainer weapons and player created weapons are tier 0 and do not do enhanced damage like looted items.
